Generally considered to be the finest of the Prout models, the Event incorporates many proven features from previous Prout designs, such as low aspect keels to give strength, durability and performance. The high aspect ratio rig allows the Event to give a sparkling performance whilst being single handed, as all lines lead back to the helmsman. This boat was built with the standard layout, with galley to starboard and navigation area to port and a large queen double berth forward in the saloon. The first owner completed it as a sailaway to a good,high standard. A U-shaped saloon area with a large double berth forward. Port and Starboard stern cabins each have a double berth, and storage including a wardrobe, shelf and seating. Port forward is a WC and shower room, with sink. Forward of this is plenty of hanging space for sailing clothing and storage space for sails, oars, wellies etc. This example has only had three owners since launch in 1989. It has been cruised extensively on the South Coast, Channel Islands and regularly to Brittany. The sellers have extensively upgraded the boat in the last 3 years. Hull and superstructure were cleaned and polished and Engine serviced professionally every year. New headlinings were installed in 2022, as were 240v electrics with sockets in each cabin, galley, saloon and chart table area, an electrical flush toilet with a holding tank, Raymarine i70 instruments (log, depth, wind) fitted, standing and running rigging fitted and new windows professionally fitted in 2023 and many other accessories..... With a new outdrive leg fitted around 2006 and a new engine upgrade to a yanmar 3GM 30 in 2014 it and a new hydraulic tiller ram fitted in 2017.
